Three Word Poem About Loss,
A lunatic Opera about Departure, Insomnia and Oblivion

by Teatro de Nieve in collaboration with Luna de Mayo

That is the paradox of life; in an overcrowded world the human being has always felt alone. And lost. Our dreams have been distorted by the absence of our beloved ones.  Presence leads to loss. And the only healing for loss is oblivion.

Combining poetry, song, music and dance, ‘Three Word Poem...’ is the first Opera by composer Sergio Camacho to be staged in the UK, in partnership with award-winning Stage Director Luis Ortega, and in collaboration with the artistic team of the Newcastle based company Teatro de Nieve. As a unique blend of feelings, textures and colours, ‘Three Word Poem...’ is the desperate call from a broken woman on her personal journey through the loss of her husband; from the departure, through her insomnia, to oblivion.

And the Moon, from her eternal snow theatre, looks down to our small tribulations. And keeps quiet.

The Equivocal Mirror,
an original film

by Teatro de Nieve
and Luna de Mayo

Two performances, one story. One Mirror, two sights.

Luna de Mayo, Latin and Fusion Band, and the production company Teatro de Nieve, both Newcastle based, present a set of two performances on the ambiguity of internal and external worlds. The two performances combine two original soundless films and original live music, interacting to create two independent but related stage shows.

Combining contemporary visual and music languages, Teatro de Nieve present a stage performance by composer Sergio Camacho on the original soundless film “The Equivocal Mirror”, directed by Luis Ortega. The film uncovers a story of hopes lost by the sea. The performers on stage are the bridge between the world in the screen and our physical reality.

On the second performance, Luna de Mayo will perform their own sight into the Equivocal Mirror, from their singular perspective. With their Spanish and Latin folk roots, and a panel of traditional and amplified instruments, they will establish a radically different dialogue between stage and screen, with their distinctive accent.

Two independent performances, about one single story. The life, through a mirror.

UK Premiere - ¡VAMOS! Festival
"Beyond the Milestone"
an original Spanish Opera about loss by Teatro de Nieve
With the collaboration of ¡VAMOS! Festival CETL

That is the paradox of life; in an overcrowded world the human being has always felt alone. And lost. Our dreams have been distorted by the absence of our beloved ones. Presence leads to loss. And the only healing for loss is oblivion.

Combining poetry, song, music and dance, ‘Beyond the Milestone’ is the new offering of the acclaimed partnership of composer Sergio Camacho with director Luis Ortega, after the opera ‘Three Word Poem About Loss’ and the film ‘The Equivocal Mirror’, in collaboration with the artistic team of the Newcastle based company Teatro de Nieve. As a unique blend of feelings, textures and colours, ‘Beyond the Milestone’ narrates the convulsed story of an uneven family tied up by the feeling of loss of two of their members, which collapses when one of the missing ones comes back. Only one. Pain is blind. Healing, oblivious.

And the Moon, from her eternal snow theatre, looks down to our small tribulations.
And keeps quiet.
